Directions to Crieff, Perthshire, Scotland

DIRECTIONS FROM EDINBURGH

If you are arriving by train at Edinburgh Waverley Station and collecting a hire car from the city you need to head out of the city to the West. The easiest route to navigate is to follow the signs for the A8 towards Edinburgh Airport.
If you are arriving at Edinburgh Airport, leave the Airport complex and head West on the A8. This will soon meet the Newbridge roundabout.
From the Newbridge roundabout take the M9 heading North past Stirling.
The M9 becomes the A9 (dual carriageway) at the roundabout by Dunblane.
Keep on the A9 towards Perth. After approx 5 miles turn left, sign posted Crieff (A822).
Follow this road for approx 12 miles through Braco and Muthill until you enter Crieff.
Immediately after crossing the stone bridge over the River Earn, turn right down a farm track (this is just before the first house on the right).
Follow track for half a mile until it splits into two.
Take the right hand fork down the hill towards the river to the Steading self catering holiday cottage.

DIRECTIONS FROM STIRLING
From Stirling, Bridge of Allan or Dunblane take the A9 North to Perth and Inverness. Go straight on at the roundabout at the top of the incline (the Kier Roundabout). Pass the exit for Doune and Callender and carry on up the A9 dual carriageway. After about 5 miles (the Little Chef restaurant is your cue to prepare for your exit) take the A822 for Crieff and Crianlarich. Crieff is about 12 miles from this point. Pass through Braco and carry on (pass the exit for Comrie) until you reach Muthill. Drive though Muthill until you enter Crieff. Immediately after crossing the stone bridge over the River Earn, turn right down a farm track (this is just before the first house on the right).
Follow track for half a mile until it splits into two.
Take the right hand fork down the hill towards the river to the Steading self catering holiday cottage.

DIRECTIONS FROM GLASGOW - to The Steading self catering holiday cottage
Glasgow Airport is to the west of the city. Exit the Airport and head East on the M8. This motorway travels right through the heart of Glasgow and crosses the Clyde River. If you are coming from the city centre head for the M8.
At junction 13 of the M8 take the M80 northwards towards Stirling. Carry on this dual carriageway which becomes the A80 and passes through Cumbernauld. The road reverts back to motorway status just before Stirling. Stirling is about 15 miles from Glasgow. Carry on up the M80 past Stirling until you reach its end at the roundabout. Take the second exit northwards to Perth. After 12 miles take the A822 to Crieff/ Crianlarich. Pass through Braco and Muthill until you enter Crieff. Immediately after crossing the stone bridge over the River Earn, turn right down a farm track (this is just before the first house on the right).
Follow track for half a mile until it splits into two.

DIRECTIONS FROM PRESTWICK AIRPORT
Prestwick Airport is about 25 miles to the south of Glasgow in Ayr, quite close to Troon and Turnberry Golf Courses. From Prestwick follow the signs for the A77 north to Glasgow.
